Entradas Abitab

Project Overview

Entradas Abitab is the official event ticketing platform of Abitab, Uruguay’s largest chain of payment convenience stores. Alabama partnered with Abitab to redesign and rebuild the platform, expanding its digital capabilities and enabling new web and mobile sales channels capable of supporting massive demand.

With over 1 million visitors annually and 70+ million payments processed every year, Abitab represents a critical piece of Uruguay’s economic infrastructure. The new platform needed to operate at national scale, meet strict reliability standards, and deliver an smooth user experience for both customers and internal operators.

The Challenge

Abitab required a complete rebuild of its ticketing platform to support hundreds of thousands of users daily across web and mobile channels. The challenge was multi-dimensional:

The Approach

We adopted a structured, discovery-first approach to reduce risk and ensure long-term success:

STEP 01

Discovery & Analysis

We worked closely with Abitab to understand business goals, user expectations, operational workflows, and scalability requirements.

STEP 02

UX Research & Usability Testing

Multiple usability tests were conducted to identify friction points and optimize the user journey for both end users and operators.

STEP 03

Visual Prototyping Before Development

A complete visual prototype was built and validated before implementation, allowing early feedback and informed architectural decisions.

The Solution

Alabama delivered a robust, scalable ticketing ecosystem across web and mobile platforms, with a strong focus on performance, usability, and extensibility.

Headless CMS Architecture

A custom backend content management system was built using Drupal APIs in a headless configuration, powering multiple endpoints across web and mobile applications.

01

High-Performance Search Engine

Elasticsearch was implemented to enable fast, reliable search for artists, venues, events, and calendars — ensuring excellent performance even under heavy load.

02

Cross-Platform Mobile Applications

Hybrid mobile apps for iOS and Android were developed from a single codebase, optimizing development speed, consistency, and cost-efficiency.

03

Monorepo Architecture

Shared components were centralized using a monorepo strategy, accelerating development and ensuring consistency across platforms.

04

Analytics & Mobile Attribution

Appsflyer was integrated to track user acquisition and campaign performance across mobile platforms.
